Introducing La Familia Vander Maas 6...
Once a Daddy and a Mommy who's arms were empty...are now OH SO FULL...a Big Sister and Big Brother who have so much love to give, now have experienced answered prayer...and 2 most PRECIOUS little sisters, no longer "alone" but joined with thier forever family! It was a glorious day...experiencing a front row seat into the heart of God! We are a blessed family!
Below, Silas and Isabel got to go upstairs and meet their new hermanitas with the psychologist Lara, and fellow adoptee/founder of "friends of Los Pisingos, Andres. It was so precious that they were able to meet the sisters first, and then walk into Tia Rosa's room where John and I were waiting! It was beautiful!
Isabel and Silas were so happy to see where they lived their first months of life! Carlos gave themt he oppurtunity to play outside with all the chicos while Lara went through the girls history, what to expect, etc...it was a great experience for them to know that they were also cared for by such a loving adoption house.
Isabel was absolutely amazing today with her sisters! She translated for me...and tried really hard to engage with the girls. Marta was very happy...and she gave all of us lots of smiles! She is a sharp little peanut. Loves to snuggle, make eye contact, and be held! (answered prayer)! Our challenge with her, as was at Los Pisingos is going to be getting her to eat...she refuses solid foods, and just wants her leche.
Carol greeted us with a lot of warmth. She is a kind and gentle little girl. She hugged me so tight and instantly called me Mami! Los Pisingos did an amazing job preparing them for our familia!
Again, the love and care that flows through this institution is amazing!
We had an amazing day...such an indescribable mix of emotions! It was very clear that Caroline was loved by her amigos at LP, and she is going to grieve big in future days. They had a fiesta for her yesterday, and her amiga, Geraldine, brought in the cake and gifts. Lara told us it was a very special party! As we were walking out, several ninos were running up to her, hugging her, and saying good-bye. Neither one of our girls cried once today, they were so very brave! But, I could see the grief in Caroline's heart. They both have such sweet, gentle personlities...it's going to take some time...That is why our extended stay in Bogota is critical to our bonding process! God's love has overwhelmed us today!
Crying tears of joy!! Oh, we are so happy and relieved that you are all together as the family God designed for you!! Take care of each other and take one moment at a time! We love you! Glenn's outside walking in the snow to make sure grandma and grandpa have seen this precious news!!
